About the Author: Mrs. Fusciardi
Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Christine Fusciardi. I graduated with a degree in Education, which specializes in both social studies and Japanese. I finished my internship in a second-grade classroom at Red Cedar Elementary School in East Lansing, Michigan and loved every minute of it! I am married to my high school sweetheart - Eric - and we are owned by two cats: Mimi and Lunchbox. I enjoy reading, writing, watching movies and television (especially the news), playing video games, crafts, and - of course - working with kids.
Most people begin to prepare for their future professions once they reach college, but my quest to become a teacher truly began when I was a fifth grader. That year, I was incredibly fortunate to study under the energetic and enthusiastic Mr. Schutz. His passion for teaching, innovative use of technology in the classroom, and engaging personality helped to light a blazing desire to learn inside of me that continues to burn to this day. I decided then that I wanted to try and pass on that feeling to as many people as I possibly could. That is when I decided I wanted to teach.
Over the years, my decision was subsequently reinforced by a string of amazing teachers: the sharp and witty Mrs. Smith; the personable Mrs. Kress; the hard-working Mrs. Cochran; the entertaining Mr. Franklin; the intelligent and down-to-earth Mr. Rehn; the inspiring Emily Moore; and the legendary Mrs. Berry. Determined to become as effective as the teachers I idolized, I arrived at Michigan State University with the intention of becoming a high school history and Japanese teacher. However, once I started tutoring elementary school students in college, I knew I had to switch from secondary to primary education; their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn is contagious! However, it was my desire to help these children realize their unlimited potential that ultimately caused me to switch majors. My hope is that I will be able to inspire and motivate my future students in the same way Mr. Schutz inspired me all those years ago!
